Heart of Texas Martial Arts went to our first AOK tournament of the season. These three students; Quaylen Lykes, Jessica Montgomery, and Rizonn Hendricks did a very good job representing our school.

Rizonn Hendricks was a Forms Competitor and a Sparring Competitor
We are hoping to do as well at our next tournament coming up in a few weeks.
Here at Heart of Texas Martial Arts we have a life word every month for the children to build upon. This month we decided that we would teach the kids about charity, and then we assigned them homework. We held a food drive for the Good Samaritan Ministries, and they did amazingly well! We brought in an astounding amount of canned and dried goods. We are very proud of their efforts in this endeavor. We had hoped to teach them about charity, but in the end, our students showed us 
they had more charitable spirits than we had ever seen before!

Here’s the fun part you can bring as many friends as you like. Now, the BEST part is that for ever FRIEND that you bring you will get a EXTRA ticket!
You maybe asking what in the world do I need a ticket for. Well, we are going to have a FREE surprise raffle drawing for all of the Heart of Texas Martial Arts students. So, the more friends you bring the better your chances are of winning the raffle.
As for the friends, we don’t want them left out of the drawing. So, we are going to have a Friends of students only drawing just for them.
We hope that everybody can come to this awesome Back to school party. We will be having pizza and drinks, playing games and most of all having fun. You don’t want to miss this!
Be sure and put your name on the list so we can get a idea of how many of the students will be coming.
FRIENDS will need a invitational release form COMPLETELY filled out by their parents and signed.

I would like to thank everybody for coming out to the picnic this year. We had a blast the kids play games ate hamburgers and hotdogs. We got some great pictures of all the fun. If you are a student of Heart of Texas Martial Arts We are going to meet at Hollywood theater. To see the new Karate Kid movie this Saturday June 12. We will be going to the 1:00 showing try to be there 30 minutes early so we all can get together. I have talk to the management and worked out a great price. So, don’t worry about paying I took care of it already. You just need to bring money for your goodies ( popcorn,candy,drinks ect.)

I am pleased to announce that we will now be offering kids BJJ at the Heart of Texas MA . I have been training at the Relson Gracie Academy in Austin, Texas under Phil Cardella .
Phil has given me permission to start a kids BJJ program in Brownwood, affiliated with Relson Gracie Austin academy. This is an exciting time for Heart of Texas MA and Brownwood. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a great sport and self-defense program, and I am excited about our endeavor! We will be offering the kids BJJ classes on Thursdays and Saturdays, see the website (www.heartoftexasma.com) for times.

I just want to thank all of you that came out to the picnic. It was a BLAST! I hope everybody had a great time and got plenty to eat.
